President Meloni visits Kyiv

On the second anniversary of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, together with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the Prime Minister of Belgium and President-in-Office of the Council of the EU, Alexander De Croo, and the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, this morning attended an honours ceremony for those who defended the airport of Hostomel, in the presence of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. Later, after visiting the Memory Wall of Fallen Defenders, President Meloni had a bilateral meeting with the Ukrainian President, after which a security cooperation agreement was signed. In the afternoon, President Meloni chaired a video-conference meeting of the G7 Heads of State and Government, during which President Zelensky also spoke.
