Both personally and on behalf of the Government, I express profound sorrow and condolences following the tragic passing of Octav Stroici, the worker who died in the collapse of the Torre dei Conti in Rome. Our thoughts are with his family and colleagues at this time of unspeakable suffering. I wish to once again thank the rescue workers and all those who worked so tirelessly and with such courage to try and save his life.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, attended this morning’s ceremony at the Altare della Patria memorial in Rome, where the Head of State laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received President Nguema of the Gabonese Republic at Palazzo Chigi today. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the status of bilateral collaboration, with President Nguema expressing his appreciation for Italy’s approach towards the African continent, as promoted through the Mattei Plan.

The Government is continuing to implement the cohesion policy reform. Following the 21 agreements signed with Italy’s Regions and Autonomous Provinces, which freed up more than EUR 45 billion in resources, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, has signed the first seven agreements with Ministries and Central Administrations, as per the proposal by the Minister for European Affairs, the NRRP and Cohesion Policy, Tommaso Foti.
