Third six-monthly report on the NRRP

31 Maggio 2023

The third sixth-monthly report on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (‘NRRP’) was presented during today’s steering committee meeting. The report analyses the Italian NRRP with full transparency, with regard to its composition, funding, liaison with Europe, financial implementation status, open data, the review and introduction of the REPowerEU chapter and critical issues with implementation linked to the objective changes that have occurred over recent months, such as rising prices and weak administrative structures.

The work carried out so far, identifying difficulties encountered during the Plan’s implementation phase, has a very precise purpose: to find solutions to ensure the final goals are achieved in full. This work will be carried under the new organisation of the steering committee, which ensures the direct involvement of and discussions with economic and social partners.

As part of the process to review and update the Plan, the Government intends to pursue fruitful parliamentary debate, with the aim of ensuring the utmost transparency in reporting on the results achieved and the implementation status of reforms and investments. The purpose of the precise description of the activities carried out, with reference to all lines of action, is to provide Parliament with a tool to assess progress towards meeting the Plan’s final objectives.

Following the steering committee meeting, the Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto, provided information about the third six-monthly report on the NRRP at a press conference and during the Council of Ministers meeting.
