Tax reform: Government meets with trade associations and professional bodies

The approval process gets underway: draft enabling law on taxation to be examined by the Council of Ministers tomorrow.
Following yesterday’s meeting with trade unions on the principles of the tax reform enabling law, representatives of trade associations and professional bodies were received at Palazzo Chigi today, who expressed a positive opinion regarding a comprehensive and complete reform, providing important and concrete contributions to discussions. 
Representing the Government, the discussions were attended by Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, Deputy Minister Maurizio Leo and Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano, who greeted attendees on behalf of President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni.
The Government underlined its willingness to discuss the reform throughout the approval process, confirming its intention to hold meetings at every stage of progress. The next steps are for the draft enabling law to be examined by the Council of Ministers tomorrow and, once this is approved, the parliamentary process can begin. The enabling decrees, containing the regulations to implement the principles included in the enabling law, will then be adopted within 24 months from the entry into force of the law itself.
The first meeting today was attended by representatives from Confindustria, Abi, Confapi, Confimi Industria, Confartigianato, Cna, Casartigiani, Cia-Agricoltori Italiani, Confcommercio, Confesercenti, Federdistribuzione, Federterziario, Confeservizi, Coldiretti, Confagricoltura and Copagri. A meeting was then held with representatives from Ania, Ance, Confedilizia, Alleanza Cooperative, Confcooperative, Unicoop, Cndcec, Consiglio Nazionale dell’Ordine dei Consulenti del Lavoro, Confprofessioni, Assoprofessioni, Anti, Consiglio Nazionale Notariato, Assogestioni, Organismo Congressuale Forense, Consiglio Nazionale Forense and Confetra.
