Statement by Palazzo Chigi on the end-of-year message by President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a cordial telephone conversation today with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during which she expressed her personal appreciation and that of the entire Government for his end-of-year message to the Italian people.

During the call, President Meloni described the President of the Republic’s address as one of great depth and vision, particularly on the path towards peace and an end to conflicts, and she expressed special gratitude for the Head of State’s specific focus on the young generations and their needs and expectations.

There was full agreement on the need to support employment and adequate wages, as well as to ensure safety in the workplace and an efficient public health service.

President of the Council of Ministers Meloni also wished the President of the Republic and his loved ones all the best for 2024 and for the continuation of his mandate.
