President Meloni meets with the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vo Van Thuong, at Palazzo Chigi today, as part of his State visit to Italy.

The meeting, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations and the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership, focused on the further revitalisation of the already intense collaboration on the economy-trade, energy, culture, science and security fronts. 

President Meloni and President Thuong also talked about the global and regional impacts of the Russian crisis, also in the Indo-Pacific, particularly in terms of stability and food and energy security. 

The meeting was followed by a ceremony to exchange two agreements that have been signed during President Thuong’s State visit: a Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and an Executive Programme of Cultural Cooperation.
