President Meloni meets with President of the Republic of Türkiye at UNGA

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a long and cordial meeting today with the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The meeting covered issues of common interest, starting with the war in Ukraine. President Erdoğan also talked about the Black Sea Grain Initiative. The commitment to strengthen cooperation with African nations on food security was also then discussed. The leaders also agreed on the importance of tackling migration in the Mediterranean with determination, by fighting human traffickers. It was also agreed to strengthen relations in the economic-trade field.
