President Meloni expresses satisfaction with CIPESS allocation for schools in L’Aquila

30 March 2023

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, has expressed “great satisfaction” with the decision approved by yesterday’s CIPESS meeting [Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development] to allocate EUR 50 million for work on school buildings in the Municipality of L’Aquila and in other towns that were affected by the earthquake in 2009.
“This – added President Meloni – is further proof of the Government’s commitment to local areas dealing with major regeneration processes. This level of attention has already been shown with the EUR 70 million earmarked in the budget law for fiscal consolidation and staffing in local authorities having to carry out reconstruction work as well as the simplification of regulations for public reconstruction work. This attention will continue, starting with the matter of the car tax payment demands referring to 2009 and 2010 that citizens have been receiving over the last few days”.
