Yesterday evening, the European Commission received a request for international assistance from the Republic of Armenia, due to the ongoing exodus from the area of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Materials are requested to help the displaced people arriving in Armenian territory, in terms of temporary shelters and medical goods.
Italy, which is working to support stabilisation of the region by fostering dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, has in the meantime immediately activated its civil protection system, initiating an inventory of the materials available at the national service’s various branches to help the population and meet the needs expressed by the country.
