Bilateral meeting with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdelfattah al-Sisi, in the margins of the Cairo Summit for Peace today. 
The meeting focused on the serious current crisis in the Middle East and on the need to support urgent and coordinated diplomatic action to curb its further expansion. In this regard, President Meloni stressed the importance of the Summit organised by Cairo and the discussion among all the participating States. The meeting also provided an opportunity to talk in depth about the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza. 
Italy and Egypt will continue to work in a spirit of enhanced cooperation over the coming weeks.
