President Meloni meets with President Herzog of the State of Israel

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a brief meeting with the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, in the margins of the COP28 conference today. 
President Meloni expressed the Italian Government’s full solidarity following the new serious attack, for which Hamas has claimed responsibility, that led to three Israeli citizens being killed in Jerusalem yesterday, and the end of the humanitarian pause in Gaza.
Italy stands with the Israeli people at this difficult time and is continuing to work for a lasting peace.
President Meloni and President Herzog agreed to continue to keep in close contact regarding the ongoing crisis.
Italy’s humanitarian efforts for Gaza are continuing, in coordination also with Israel, with paediatricians being sent to the United Arab Emirates and the ‘Vulcano’ hospital ship arriving at the port of Al Arish.
