After participating in the Cairo Summit for Peace today, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, travelled to Israel to bring Italy’s message of solidarity and sympathy following the tragic terrorist attack by Hamas against defenceless citizens on 7 October.
The meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was an opportunity to get an update on the situation and to take stock following the conference in Cairo.
Reaffirming Israel’s full right to defend itself in accordance with international law and to live in peace, President Meloni stressed the importance of guaranteeing humanitarian access to Gaza and a prospect of peace for the region.
