Phone call between President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

President Meloni renewed the Italian Government’s full support for Kyiv within the framework of international alliances, in political, military, economic and humanitarian terms and with regard to future reconstruction. She also confirmed Italy’s commitment to all diplomatic efforts to bring the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine to an end. 

The President of the Council of Ministers said that she was proud of the great solidarity shown by the Italian people for the Ukrainian citizens who have been received in Italy. She then expressed her hope that the agreement on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports would be renewed, as this is crucial to avert a possible food crisis.
