NRRP steering committee meeting with President Meloni

8 November 2022

A steering committee meeting for the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (‘NRRP’) was held today, in the presence of the President of the Council of Ministers.

The President underlined the key role and the functions of the steering committee, which monitors progress in implementing the NRRP’s objectives and promptly  identifies technical and political solutions to overcome any issues that may arise during implementation.

To ensure its functions are performed in full, steering committee meetings will be called regularly, both plenary sessions and sector-specific meetings, to address matters connected to specific obligations and objectives.

The steering committee will be coordinated by the Minister for European Affairs, Cohesion Policy and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Hon. Raffaele Fitto.

Bilateral meetings will be held with individual administrations next week in order to monitor the implementation status of all the objectives to be met by 31/12/2022.

During the meeting, it was also confirmed that the second instalment of EUR 21 billion had been received, after the assessment of Italy’s fulfilment of the milestones and targets at 30 June 2022.

Everyone stated that their goal is to respect the set time frames and to make the best use of all resources.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of regional authorities, UPI [Union of Italian Provinces] and ANCI [National Association of Italian Municipalities], as a sign of the institutional cooperation reaffirmed by the Government with territorial autonomies.
