Palazzo Chigi joins ‘Red Wednesday 22 November 2023’ initiative
The Presidency of the Council of Ministers supports ‘Red Wednesday 22 November 2023’, an initiative by the Aid to the Church in Need Pontifical Foundation to remember oppressed communities whose religious freedom is severely restricted. To mark the initiative, Palazzo Chigi’s main façade will be lit up in red from sunset on 22 November until sunrise on 23 November.

President Meloni in Berlin
An Intergovernmental Summit between Italy and Germany was held in Berlin today, attended by the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, the Federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, seven Italian Government Ministers (Foreign Affairs; Interior; Defence; Economy and Finance; Enterprises and Made in Italy; Labour; University) and seven German Government Ministers. During the Summit, the President of the Council of Ministers and Chancellor Scholz signed an Action Plan to strengthen cooperation at both bilateral and European level.

Palazzo Chigi aderisce all'iniziativa “Red Wednesday 22 novembre 2023”
La Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri ha aderito all'iniziativa “Red Wednesday 22 novembre 2023” della Fondazione pontificia Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre per ricordare le comunità oppresse la cui libertà religiosa è fortemente limitata. In occasione dell'iniziativa, la facciata principale di Palazzo Chigi in piazza Colonna sarà illuminata con il colore rosso dall’imbrunire del 22 novembre fino all’alba del 23 novembre.

Il Presidente Meloni a Berlino
Si è svolto oggi, a Berlino, il Vertice intergovernativo tra Italia e Germania al quale hanno partecipato il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, il Cancelliere federale Olaf Scholz e sette Ministri da parte italiana (Esteri, Interno, Difesa, Economia e Finanze, Imprese e Made in Italy, Lavoro e Università) e sette da parte tedesca. In occasione del Vertice, il Presidente del Consiglio e il Cancelliere Scholz hanno firmato un Piano d'azione per il rafforzamento della cooperazione bilaterale e in ambito europeo.

Statement by President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni
It is with great relief that I welcome the agreement to secure the release of hostages taken by Hamas during the brutal attack against Israel on 7 October. This agreement will also allow a much-needed humanitarian pause in Gaza. We will continue to work for the release of all hostages and for lasting peace in the Middle East. Today, we are thinking of the families who will finally be able to embrace their loved ones once again.

Dichiarazione del Presidente del Consiglio Giorgia Meloni
Accolgo con grande sollievo l'accordo per garantire il rilascio degli ostaggi presi da Hamas durante il cruento assalto contro Israele del 7 ottobre. Un accordo che permetterà anche una pausa umanitaria quantomai necessaria a Gaza. Continueremo a lavorare per il rilascio di tutti gli ostaggi e per una pace duratura in Medio Oriente. Oggi pensiamo alle famiglie che potranno finalmente riabbracciare i propri cari.

“Accogliamo con soddisfazione la decisione odierna della Commissione europea di estendere fino a fine giugno 2024 alcune delle misure previste dal Quadro Temporaneo di crisi e transizione per gli aiuti di Stato. L'Esecutivo europeo accoglie così la richiesta, portata avanti prima di tutto dall'Italia, di consentire una fase di uscita graduale e sostenibile dalle misure di sostegno adottate dal Governo negli scorsi mesi. Colloquio telefonico del Presidente Meloni con il nuovo Presidente eletto della Repubblica Argentina
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha avuto oggi un colloquio telefonico con il nuovo Presidente eletto della Repubblica Argentina, Javier Milei, al quale ha formulato le proprie congratulazioni e gli auguri di buon lavoro. L’Argentina è una nazione a cui siamo legati da profondi legami storici e culturali e in cui vive la più grande comunità di italiani all’estero. Roma e Buenos Aires condividono valori comuni che definiscono la nostra azione di politica estera nell’attuale contesto internazionale.

President Meloni’s telephone conversation with the newly elected President of the Argentine Republic
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the newly elected President of the Argentine Republic, Javier Milei, to whom she offered her congratulations and best wishes for his work. Argentina is a nation to which we are bound by deep historical and cultural ties and it is home to the largest community of Italians abroad. Rome and Buenos Aires share common values that define our foreign policy action in the current international context.
