President Meloni’s statement on Istat labour market figures for Q3 2024
The figures published today by Istat [Italian National Institute of Statistics] regarding the third quarter of 2024 confirm the positive performance of the labour market. The employment rate continued to rise, up to 62.4%, and the unemployment rate continued to fall, standing at 6.1%, down 0.6% compared with the previous quarter. These figures provide a very encouraging signal. Supporting companies that create jobs and generate wealth is the path we have taken and will continue to follow, because it is the right one to get Italy back on track and competitive again.

President Meloni’s telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. President Meloni offered her best wishes to Prime Minister Trudeau ahead of the handover of the G7 Presidency between Italy and Canada at the end of the year. During the call, President Meloni highlighted the main results achieved by the Italian Presidency and, in view of the agenda being defined for the next G7 Summit, shared the importance of ensuring full continuity also with regard to the issues of Africa and the Mediterranean, in addition to the key priorities of the Canadian Presidency as outlined by Prime Minister Trudeau.
