President Meloni at the G7 Summit

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met with the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, on Thursday 18 May, on the eve of the G7 Summit which is being held in Hiroshima from 19 to 21 May.
During the first day of the Summit, there was the leaders’ visit to the Peace Memorial Museum, an EU coordination meeting and the G7 leaders’ working lunch. President Meloni also had bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak. In the evening, the G7 leaders moved to the island of Miyajima, where they visited the Itsukushima Shrine and had a working dinner before returning to Hiroshima.
During the second day of the Summit, after the working lunch, President Meloni had a bilateral meeting with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron. In the afternoon, working sessions were held also with G7 Partner Countries and international organisations. President Meloni later met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky and, in the evening, held a closing press conference.
