The first plenary meeting of the new Italian Committee for Bioethics was held at Palazzo Chigi today. The Committee was appointed on 6 December 2022 by decree of the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni.
The Committee, chaired by Professor Angelo Luigi Vescovi, unanimously approved the schedule of plenary meetings for 2023.
Professor Vescovi informed the Committee that he had received a request from the Ministry of Health for an opinion on medically assisted suicide.The Committee adjourned its work until the next meeting.
