President Meloni and Undersecretary of State Mantovano in Sicily following the arrest of Matteo Messina Denaro

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met in Palermo this morning with the District Prosecutor of Palermo, Maurizio de Lucia, the judicial officers who coordinated the investigation and the Carabinieri agents from the ROS [Special Operations Group] who carried out the arrest of the notorious fugitive mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro. Before arriving at the Prosecutor’s Office, President Meloni and Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano paid tribute at the memorial honouring the victims of the Capaci bombing.
