Prime Minister Draghi congratulates Giorgio Parisi on Nobel Prize for Physics

President of the Council of Ministers Mario Draghi offers his and the Government’s sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Professor Giorgio Parisi on winning the Nobel Prize for Physics.

Professor Parisi is a pioneer of theoretical physics research and his name is linked to a number of decisive discoveries in the field of quantum chromodynamics and the study of complex disordered systems, from the atomic to the planetary scale. He has already been awarded some of the most important international prizes for physics and science, including the Boltzmann Medal, the Dirac Medal, the Lagrange Prize, the Max Planck Medal and the Wolf Prize.

During his illustrious career spanning over 50 years, Professor Parisi’s contributions have played a crucial role in our understanding of fundamental phenomena, significantly influencing many other fields of knowledge, from cognitive science to biology and social sciences.

President Emeritus of Accademia dei Lincei, Italy’s national science academy, Professor Parisi is a role model for generations of students and researchers, and for the entire nation. Prime Minister Draghi will be welcoming Professor Parisi to Palazzo Chigi, to congratulate him in person for his extraordinary success.
