Statement by Palazzo Chigi on land border checks being reintroduced between Italy and Slovenia
The Italian Government has announced that land border checks between Italy and Slovenia are to be reintroduced, pursuant to article 28 of the Schengen Borders Code (EU Regulation no. 2016/399). Minister of the Interior Piantedosi provided notification of this reintroduction of internal border control, already adopted in the Schengen area, to Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union Thérèse Blanchet and the Interior Ministers of EU Member States and Schengen associated countries.

Il cordoglio del Presidente Meloni per le vittime dell'ospedale di Gaza
Sono profondamente addolorata da ciò che è accaduto all'ospedale Al Ahli Arab di Gaza. L'Italia esprime il suo profondo cordoglio per le vittime e la sua vicinanza ai famigliari e ai feriti.
In attesa di disporre di conferme definitive sulla dinamica dei fatti, rinnoviamo ancora una volta il nostro impegno per proteggere la popolazione civile, risolvere i problemi umanitari più urgenti e assicurare una veloce soluzione di questa crisi.

President Meloni meets with Patriarch of Antioch for Maronites
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met with His Beatitude Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai, Patriarch of Antioch for Maronites, at Palazzo Chigi today. The meeting, which was also attended by Undersecretary of State Alfredo Mantovano and representatives from the ‘Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre’ foundation, focused on the current crisis in the Middle East and the latest developments in the region, with particular reference to the situation in Lebanon. President Meloni underlined that Lebanon represents a unique model of peaceful coexistence and mutual enrichment among different religious faiths.

President Meloni’s telephone conversation with President Tebboune of Algeria
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, continues to keep in close contact with the Heads of State and Government of allied nations and of the countries most affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
In particular, President Meloni had a very cordial telephone conversation today with the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha preso parte alla videoconferenza straordinaria dei membri del Consiglio Europeo, convocata dal Presidente Charles Michel per discutere dell’attacco di Hamas subito da Israele e delle implicazioni del conflitto in corso, con riferimento anche alla situazione umanitaria di Gaza.

PNRR, le sessioni della Cabina di regia del 17 ottobre: focus su infrastrutture ferroviarie, idriche, della mobilità ciclistica e per la qualità dell’abitare
L’esame sullo stato di attuazione degli interventi sulla rete ferroviaria e il punto sul Programma innovativo nazionale per la qualità dell’abitare (PINQuA), sugli interventi relativi alle infrastrutture idriche e sulla misura per il rafforzamento della mobilità ciclistica: questi i temi all’ordine del giorno delle due sessioni odierne della cabina di regia PNRR, convocate e presiedute dal Ministro per gli Affari europei, il Sud, le Politiche di coesione e il PNRR Raffaele Fitto presso la Sala Verde di Palazzo Chigi.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met with King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain at Palazzo Chigi today. During the meeting, issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed in depth, with particular reference to trade and defence cooperation.

Il Presidente Meloni incontra il Re del Bahrein
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha avuto oggi a Palazzo Chigi un incontro con il Re del Bahrein, Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa. Nel corso del colloquio sono stati approfonditi i temi dell’agenda bilaterale, con particolare riferimento alla collaborazione in ambito commerciale e difesa. Durante il confronto sono stati affrontati inoltre gli ultimi sviluppi della crisi in Medio Oriente, approfondendo in particolare le possibili iniziative per evitare l’allargamento del conflitto in corso e favorire la soluzione dei problemi umanitari più urgenti.
