It is with great satisfaction that I welcome the news of a merger agreement between the Italian company Saipem and the Norwegian Subsea 7, an extremely important operation that will make it possible to create the world’s leading energy engineering company. I am disconcerted by the sentence of conviction concerning Undersecretary of State Andrea Delmastro, in relation to which the public prosecutor had initially requested a dismissal and subsequently an acquittal. I ask myself whether the judgement is really based on the merits of the case. Undersecretary of State Delmastro remains in his position.
