Governing majority holds meeting on budget law
The governing majority met to discuss the budget law today. The meeting was attended by President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, Vice-Presidents Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, leader of ‘Noi Moderati’ Maurizio Lupi and Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti.

President Meloni’s statement on International Criminal Court ruling
Over the coming days, I will be looking into the motivations that led to the International Criminal Court’s ruling. Its motivations should always be objective and not political in nature. The Italian Presidency of the G7 intends to include this issue on the agenda at the next Foreign Affairs Ministerial Meeting, which will be held in Fiuggi from 25 to 26 November. This Government remains firm on one point: there can be no equivalence between the responsibilities of the State of Israel and the terrorist organisation Hamas.

President Meloni’s statement on attacks against Italian UNIFIL headquarters
“It is with deep concern and indignation that I have learned the news of fresh attacks against the Italian UNIFIL headquarters in the south of Lebanon, which have also injured some of our military personnel serving on the peacekeeping mission. I wish to express both mine and the Government’s solidarity and closeness to the injured and their families, as well as sincere gratitude for the work the entire Italian contingent carries out in Lebanon on a daily basis. I reaffirm once again that such attacks are unacceptable and renew my appeal for the parties on the ground to guarantee the safety of UNIFIL soldiers at all times and to collaborate in order to swiftly identify those responsible”.

Official visit to the Argentine Republic
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, visited the Argentine Republic today. This afternoon, she had a meeting with President Javier Milei in Buenos Aires, after which the two leaders issued statements to the press. President Meloni later visited the Italian Cultural Institute and went on to deliver a speech at the Teatro Coliseo.

Raffaele Fitto has been confirmed as Executive Vice-President of the European Commission. This important role being assigned to the Commissioner nominated by Italy is a victory for all Italians, not just for the Government or a political party. We have been given a significant portfolio and coordination of policy areas that are strategic for our nation and for Europe as a whole, such as agriculture, fisheries, the marine economy, transport and tourism. This appointment confirms that Italy has regained a central position in Europe, befitting our role as a founding member of the EU, the second largest manufacturer in Europe and the continent’s third largest economy.

G20 Summit: President Meloni meets with the Prime Minister of Japan and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
In the margins of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, the President of the Council of Ministers ,Giorgia Meloni, had a meeting today with the Prime Minister of Japan, Shigeru Ishiba, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer. The meeting focused in particular on the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), the highly strategic international partnership between Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan whose shared ambition is to develop a sixth-generation fighter jet.
