The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sánchez. President Meloni and President Sánchez underlined the cooperation between Italy and Spain on the major issues at the top of the European and international agenda, including the issue of energy in light of the conclusions of the last European Council meeting, collaboration within NATO, European economic governance and migration. The two leaders also shared the importance of ensuring close attention to the challenges stemming from the world’s South.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. President Meloni renewed the Italian Government’s full support for Kyiv within the framework of international alliances, in political, military, economic and humanitarian terms and with regard to future reconstruction. She also confirmed Italy’s commitment to all diplomatic efforts to bring the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine to an end. The President of the Council of Ministers said that she was proud of the great solidarity shown by the Italian people for the Ukrainian citizens who have been received in Italy. She then expressed her hope that the agreement on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports would be renewed, as this is crucial to avert a possible food crisis.
