President Meloni calls Government meeting and speaks with international leaders on Israel-Iran crisis
After calling a government meeting on the crisis in the Middle East, President Meloni spoke over the telephone today with US President Trump, German Federal Chancellor Merz, and European Commission President von der Leyen. Later in the day, she spoke with a number of leaders in the region, discussing how to work together to support a diplomatic solution. President Meloni also had a conversation today with the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.

President Meloni meets with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received the NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, at Palazzo Chigi today. The meeting provided an opportunity for an in-depth exchange of views in preparation for the upcoming NATO Summit, with particular reference to spending on collective security and the building of an increasingly innovative and competitive defence industry, in complementarity with the EU.
