The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, and the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, held talks during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. This is the fifth meeting between the two Prime Ministers in two years. The last was in June 2024, in Puglia, Italy on the occasion of the G7 Summit chaired by Prime Minister Meloni. During her participation in the G20 Rio Summit, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a meeting today with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a bilateral meeting with the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, today, on the eve of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. President Meloni offered her congratulations for the work carried out by the Brazilian Presidency, and expressed appreciation for the synergy and continuity guaranteed by the Italian Presidency of the G7 and the Brazilian Presidency of the G20, underpinned by the shared priority issues addressed by both, starting with development, energy transition and food security.
