Prime Minister Draghi in Algiers

The President of the Council of Ministers, Mario Draghi, travelled to Algiers today. Upon his arrival at Houari Boumédiène international airport, he met with the Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Aïmen Benabderrahmane. Prime Minister Draghi went on to lay a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument before meeting with the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the ‘El Mouradia’ Palace.
In the margins of the meeting, a signing ceremony was held for the Declaration of Intent between the Italian Government and the Algerian Government on energy cooperation, and for the agreement between ENI and SONATRACH, which will increase gas exports to Italy.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Draghi delivered a press statement.
