The President of the Council of Ministers, Mario Draghi, visited Israel and Palestine on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 June.
This morning in Jerusalem, following his visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Remembrance Centre, he met with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, after which the two leaders delivered statements to the press.
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Draghi travelled to Ramallah where he met with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh. After their meeting, the signing ceremony of the bilateral agreements between Italy and Palestine was held and the two leaders delivered statements to the press.
Yesterday, during his first day in Jerusalem, PM Draghi met with the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, at Beit HaNassi. Later, at the Italian Temple, he visited the ‘Umberto Nahon’ Museum of Italian Jewish Art and the Italian Synagogue, where he met with representatives of the Italian community. He then went on to meet with Israeli Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid at the Knesset.
