Presentation of Italy’s candidacy to host Einstein Telescope

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, delivered a speech at the presentation of Italy’s candidacy to host the Einstein Telescope, the future major research infrastructure for third-generation detection of gravitational waves, to be built in Europe.

The following people also spoke at the event, which was held at the headquarters of INAF (Italian National Institute for Astrophysics): Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani; Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini; Minister of Labour and Social Policies Marina Elvira Calderone; Physics Nobel Laureate and President of the technical-scientific committee for Italy’s candidacy to host the Einstein Telescope Giorgio Parisi; Ambassador and Head of the Italian delegation on the Board of Governmental Representatives for the Einstein Telescope Ettore Sequi; President of INFN (Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics) Antonio Zoccoli; President of INAF Marco Tavani; and, President of the Sardinia Region Christian Solinas. Sardinia is in fact the region that has been chosen for the candidacy to host the Einstein Telescope, in the area of the ‘Sos Enattos’ disused mine.
