President Meloni’s statement on national plan to prevent misuse of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids
We are proud that Italy is one of the very first nations in Europe to adopt such a detailed plan to prevent the misuse of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.
Fentanyl, also known as the ‘zombie drug’, whose spread has caused a real emergency in the United States, is a very powerful analgesic with potentially devastating effects for those who take it other than for health reasons. In fact, just 3 milligrams of the substance is enough to kill a person.

Incontro del Presidente Meloni con il Presidente del Jacques Delors Institute, Enrico Letta
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha ricevuto a Palazzo Chigi il Presidente del Jacques Delors Institute, Enrico Letta, incaricato dal Consiglio dell’Unione europea di redigere un rapporto di alto livello sul futuro del Mercato unico, che sarà presentato il 17 aprile in occasione del Consiglio europeo informale di Bruxelles. L’incontro rientra nell’ambito del giro delle 27 capitali europee compiuto da Letta nella fase di preparazione del Rapporto.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met at Palazzo Chigi today with the President of the Jacques Delors Institute, Enrico Letta, who has been appointed by the Council of the European Union to draw up a high-level report on the future of the single market. The report will be submitted on April 17th at the informal European Council meeting in Brussels.

I condemn in the strongest possible terms today’s attack on Odesa during the meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Kyriakos Mitsotakis. This latest example of Russian intimidation will have no effect and nor will it weaken Ukraine’s resistance, alongside which Italy and its Government stand unwavering.

Esprimo la mia più netta condanna per l'attacco perpetrato oggi a Odessa durante l'incontro tra Volodymyr Zelensky e Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Questo ennesimo atto di intimidazione russo non sortirà alcun effetto e non indebolirà la resistenza ucraina, al fianco della quale l'Italia e il suo governo sono schierati senza cedimenti.
